Job summary

CAPTRUST is seeking a Data Quality Analyst to lead the firm's data quality program. This role partners with teams across the firm to define, monitor, and enforce data quality rules that improve trust in reporting and analytics.

Strong SQL skills and cross-department collaboration are essential in Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on designing CDEs, implementing automated tests with dbt, and driving remediation of data quality issues while promoting data governance, metadata, and lineage practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, or related field
• 6+ years of experience in a data quality, analytics, BI, or data engineering-adjacent role
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex queries for profiling, validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis
• Experience defining and operationalizing data quality rules, thresholds, and automated checks
• Understanding of data governance concepts (definitions, metadata, lineage, stewardship) and how they support secure, discoverable data assets
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain data issues to non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with dbt (tests, sources, models, documentation) or similar frameworks
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms
• Experience operating a data issue management process and coordinating remediation across teams
• Comfort with data modeling and ETL concepts and partnering with Data Engineers to embed controls
• Experience working with CRM systems like Microsoft Dynamics
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• High standard of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

Responsibilities

• Lead the firm's data quality program by identifying, defining, and prioritizing data quality rules with owners and stewards
• Design and maintain automated SQL-based data quality tests via dbt with data engineers
• Define critical data elements (CDEs) and measurable quality standards and document acceptance criteria
• Monitor data quality through reports and dashboards with alerts and SLAs
• Manage the data quality issue lifecycle from detection through remediation and verification
• Promote data quality best practices and governance alignment with metadata and lineage
