About the role

As a Data Quality & Governance Developer, you will make an impact by ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of healthcare data across enterprise systems. You will be a valued member of the Healthcare Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with cross‑functional stakeholders including data analysts, engineers, and business leaders.

In this role, you will:
  • Design and implement data governance controls to validate record counts, financial fields, and data consistency across platforms.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize data quality across Azure Databricks, Data Lake, and Unix environments.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data validation and reporting.
  • Create actionable insights through BI dashboards using Power BI and Tableau.

What you need to have to be considered:
  • 7+ years of IT experience in Healthcare Clinical and Insurance domains.
  • 4+ years of hands‑on experience in Data Governance and Data Quality.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and data lake technologies.
  • Experience in developing audit controls and automated reporting for healthcare claims and payment systems.
  • Expertise in SQL, Hive, Oracle, Teradata, and ETL tools like Talend.
These will help you stand out:
  • Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid claims and payment modernization initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and uncover trends.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and SSRS for healthcare reporting.
  • Knowledge of SFTP file transfer validation and Unix server data consistency checks.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to streamline data flows and improve financial reporting accuracy.
Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
