Job summary

Kahala Management LLC is seeking a Data Quality Analyst to secure and improve data quality across our enterprise data platform. You will work within a fast-paced, multi-brand environment, collaborating with Data Engineering, BI, Governance, and business teams to implement standards and controls.

The role emphasizes Databricks, SQL, and data governance, with responsibilities spanning quality checks, data profiling, and executive reporting to support audits and compliant data practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Data Quality, Data Analytics, Data Governance, or related roles.
• Data Management certification (CDMP preferred)
• Strong SQL skills with experience querying large datasets.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and modern data architectures.
• Experience performing data profiling, validation, and reconciliation activities.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Required technical skills: SQL, Data Profiling, Data Validation, Data Governance.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain enterprise data quality rules and controls.
• Monitor data quality metrics including completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, and validity.
• Investigate and resolve data anomalies, discrepancies, and root causes.
• Develop data quality scorecards and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Establish data quality SLAs and KPIs across critical datasets.
• Design and implement automated data quality checks within Databricks.
• Build and maintain data validation processes using Databricks SQL, PySpark, and Delta Lake.
• Monitor data pipelines and products for quality issues.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to embed quality controls from ingestion to reporting.
• Leverage Databricks workflows and monitoring to identify data issues.
• Collaborate with data owners to define standards and governance policies.
• Document data definitions, lineage, quality rules, and issue resolution processes.
• Participate in governance committees and stewardship activities.
• Produce executive-level reporting on data quality trends and improvement initiatives.
• Support audits and data validation activities related to financial and operational reporting.
• Translate business requirements into measurable data quality controls.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Data & Analytics, the Data Quality Analyst will play a pivotal role in securing MTY’s expansive digital ecosystem and emerging technology initiatives. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure security is embedded into every phase of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Key responsibilities include areas such as API security, web application security testing, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).

This position is being recruited through the BBQ Holdings subsidiary of MTY Food Group, a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (“MTY”). MTY’s family of 80+ restaurant brands include mainstays such as Cold Stone Creamery, Famous Dave’s, and Papa Murphy’s.

We are seeking a highly analytical Data Quality Analyst to help ensure the integrity, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data assets within our modern data platform built on Databricks.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, measuring, and improving data quality across enterprise data domains including sales, finance, franchise operations, supply chain, loyalty, and customer data. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical data expertise with business problem-solving and wants to help build a scalable, trusted data foundation in a fast-paced, multi-brand restaurant organization. This role will work closely with Data Engineering, Data Products, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, and business stakeholders to establish data quality standards, identify issues, implement controls, and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Databricks, SQL, data quality frameworks, and large-scale data environments, along with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Quality Management

• Leverage Databricks workflows and monitoring capabilities to proactively identify data issues.

Data Governance & Stewardship

• Collaborate with data owners and business teams to define data standards and business rules.
• Document data definitions, lineage, quality rules, and issue resolution processes.
• Participate in governance committees and data stewardship activities.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.

Analysis & Reporting

• Conduct data profiling and quality assessments on new and existing datasets.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Create executive-level reporting on data quality trends and improvement initiatives.
• Support audits and data validation efforts related to financial and operational reporting.
