SunnyData seeks a Data QA Engineer focused on data quality to translate requirements into robust test plans and automate validation across pipelines, databases, and APIs.

You will execute regression tests, document outcomes, and collaborate with Engineering to resolve defects while leveraging AI tools to boost test coverage and efficiency.

Formación

• 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience in data-focused environments.
• Experience testing data pipelines, transformations, databases, or data-driven apps.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to validate data accuracy, integrity.
• Hands-on with Playwright and/or Cypress for test automation.
• Experience with APIs testing and data validation.
• Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD workflows.
• Cloud experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

As a Data QA Engineer with a strong focus on Data, you will understand requirements and translate them into effective test cases, execute and automate those tests, and track testing progress and defects.

The Impact You'll Have

• Understand requirements and translate them into test plans and test cases, ensuring requirements traceability.
• Help ensure the quality and reliability of our data by testing data pipelines, transformations, databases, and data-driven applications, identifying potential issues and validating data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Execute test cases, including regression testing, and document results and testing progress.
• Document, track, and validate the resolution of software defects in collaboration with Engineering.
• Work with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and address testing-related questions.
• Collaborate with engineers to investigate defects and determine the right solutions.
• Validate data across applications, APIs, databases, and data pipelines to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Establish and document testing processes, standards, and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and data quality.
• Leverage AI tools to improve automation efficiency, data validation, and test coverage.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to ensure high-quality software and reliable data.

What We Look For

• 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
• Data Testing Experience: Experience testing data pipelines, data transformations, databases, or data-driven applications, with the ability to validate data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Hands-on experience with test automation using Playwright and/or Cypress.
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating data in databases.
• Experience testing APIs and data-driven applications.
• Understanding of data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively document, troubleshoot, and communicate defects and test results.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple testing initiatives and drive them to completion.
• Proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate risks and identify opportunities to improve automation, test coverage, and overall efficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Interest and experience in leveraging AI tools to improve automation efficiency, data validation, and test coverage.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
