Job summary

cyberhaven is seeking a Data Protection Analyst to join the growing Professional & Managed Services team. You will investigate insider-threat incidents, analyze endpoint activity, and help clients operationalize a Data Detection & Response platform to reduce data loss.

The role requires hands-on experience with DLP, Insider Threat, CASB, and SIEM/SOAR integrations, plus a strong ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with data protection products.
• Knowledge of endpoint protection best practices.

Join a growing Professional & Managed Services team as a Data Protection Analyst focused on insider-threat investigations and endpoint forensics. You'll analyze data-security incidents, surface risk across customer environments, and help clients operationalize a Data Detection & Response platform to reduce data loss. The position reports to the Head of Global Service and suits a technically deep, client-obsessed communicator who thrives in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject-matter expert on data protection, incorporating external DLP market trends to demonstrate value for customers.
• Analyze event data from a Data Detection and Response platform to refine policies, sharpen alerts, and focus on high-risk data‑loss areas.
• Partner with clients to design incident-response workflows aligned to their security objectives and policies.
• Refine datasets and policies as customers' data-risk strategy matures and business needs evolve.
• Identify trends and drive requirements that improve existing detection and response policies.
• Deliver formal summaries and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop strategies for monitoring and preventing data loss.
• Reduce noise and false positives in analytic outputs, and conduct forensic analysis on individuals, groups, and unauthorized egress destinations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working with data protection products, plus knowledge of endpoint protection best practices and incident mitigation.
• Background advising on security issues related to data protection and insider risk (both accidental and malicious).
• Hands‑on expertise with DLP, Insider Threat, and CASB solutions; familiarity with SIEM/SOAR integrations.
• Strong understanding of macOS, Linux, and Windows environments.
• Knowledge of security controls for handling sensitive data types.
• Experience performing technical analysis and managing documentation or project aspects of incident response.
• Familiarity with cloud apps and services, with a passion for cloud technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, blending creative and logical thinking.
• Customer‑centric mindset with strong empathy, motivation, and focus.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce management‑level presentations.
