Role Overview
As Data Product Owner, you will define, prioritize, and deliver data products that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and operational decision‑making. You will bridge business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring curated data sets, metrics frameworks, and dashboards are designed, governed, and aligned with strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field.
- Over five years of experience in data analytics, business analysis, and/or product management.
- Strong understanding of data models, KPIs/metrics, dashboards, and analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with data governance practices, data quality frameworks, and agentic insights.
- Proven experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Ability to manage cross‑functional stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- Access to U.S. export‑controlled information required.
- Must live locally in the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience in Aerospace & Defense or regulated industries; knowledge of ITAR/EAR.
- Exposure to PLM/ERP integrations (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP), MES/Quality systems, and advanced analytics/data lake pipelines.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define purpose, value, and roadmap for assigned data products.
- Translate organizational priorities into product requirements and release plans.
- Establish and maintain KPI definitions, data standards, and success measures.
Requirements Gathering & Story Development
- Lead discovery sessions with business partners to understand needs and pain points.
- Author business requirements, detailed user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Document source systems, transformation logic, and data quality expectations.
- Develop and maintain vision and roadmap for each data product.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as primary liaison between data architecture, engineering, analytics, and business teams.
- Facilitate alignment on metric definitions and governance standards.
- Communicate product updates, decisions, and changes clearly and consistently.
Delivery & Execution
- Prioritize product backlog based on business value, effort, dependency, and strategic goals.
- Partner closely with data engineering and BI developers during build cycles.
- Validate sprint increments and approve deliverables based on acceptance criteria.
- Proactively identify and resolve risks, data gaps, and technical blockers.
- Validate delivery and ensure solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
Governance & Quality
- Maintain documentation of data lineage, metric definitions, and usage guidance.
- Ensure data products adhere to governance, compliance, and security requirements.
- Monitor product performance and drive continuous improvement.

Salary
Buffalo, NY: $110,000–$145,000 annually.
Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of Moog’s salary range for this position in the given location. Actual salaries will vary.
