Ford seeks a Data Product Manager based in Dearborn, MI to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of a data ingestion platform that handles structured, unstructured, real-time, and batch data from diverse sources.

You will combine data engineering concepts with product management best practices to deliver scalable, reliable data solutions, with relocation assistance possible for qualified candidates in a hybrid onsite role four or more days per week.

Responsibilities

In this position...

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of our data ingestion platform. This platform is critical to our organization, ingesting a wide variety of data types—structured, unstructured, real-time, and batch— from diverse sources. The ideal candidate is a seasoned product leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering data products that meet and exceed user needs. This role requires a strong understanding of data engineering principles, product management best practices, and a passion for building high-quality, scalable, and reliable data solutions.

Based in Dearborn, MI, this is a hybrid position with a requirement to be onsite four or more days per week. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

What you'll do...

• Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data ingestion platform. This includes conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Requirements Gathering & Prioritization: Elicit and prioritize requirements from stakeholders across the organization, balancing business needs with technical feasibility and resource constraints. This includes actively engaging with data engineers, data scientists, and business users.
• Product Design & Development: Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and launch new features and improvements to the data ingestion platform. This includes creating detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new features and platform updates.
• Product Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor platform performance, user adoption, and identify areas for improvement. This includes analyzing usage data, conducting user surveys, and gathering feedback.
• Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership, engineering, and business units.
• Customer Discovery: Regularly engage with users to understand their needs, pain points, and expectations. This includes conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
• Product Discovery: Employ various product discovery techniques to identify and validate product opportunities.
• Leadership Reviews: Prepare and present regular product updates and performance reviews to leadership.
• Pulse Checks & Surveys: Conduct regular pulse checks and surveys to monitor user satisfaction and identify emerging issues.

You’ll have...

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on data products.
• 3+ years of proven ability to define and execute product roadmaps.
• 3+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies.

Even better, you may have...

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
• Deep understanding of data ingestion principles, technologies, and best practices.
• Experience with various data types (structured, unstructured, real-time, batch).
• Experience with data visualization and analytics tools is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

This position is a salary grade of 7 or 8 and ranges from $99,600- 192,900.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
