Travelers Data Engineering team seeks a Senior Director to accelerate growth in our analytics landscape by leading data solutions that capture, transform, and utilize data for AI, ML, and business insights.

You will mentor data engineers, ingest data from multiple sources, and relay information to partners across the enterprise, shaping the future of our data platform.

Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$157,500.00 - $259,900.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers Data Engineering team constructs pipelines that contextualize and provide easy access to data by the entire enterprise. As a Data Engineering Senior Director you will accelerate growth and transformation of our analytics landscape. In this role, you will lead teams designing and building data solutions that capture, explore, transform and utilize data to support Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and business intelligence/insights. In addition to ingesting data from multiple sources and relaying information to relevant partners, you will also mentor and develop a team of data engineers.

What Will You Do?

• Lead development of analytic data products, including pilots and proof of concepts.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field or equivalent.
• Eight or more years of related work experience.
• Four or more years of team leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with data science teams to support analytical and modeling initiatives.
• Proven hands‑on background in data engineering, including building and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Track record of progressing from individual contributor engineering roles into team leadership.
• Experience evaluating data sources and consolidating data assets into centralized, accessible platforms.
• Ability to assess the quality and scope of technical work, articulate its business value, and represent it effectively to stakeholders and leadership.

What is a Must Have?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.
• 7 additional years of data engineering experience.
• 2 years of technical leadership experience.
