Job summary

Database USA is a creator and provider of databases of US businesses, consumers, emails, and life events. We seek a Data Product Analyst to own the quality, coverage, and growth of our databases: inspecting the data closely, finding where it falls short, and planning improvements and additions that make it more valuable to our customers.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with the data industry.
• Experience improving, maintaining, or expanding a database or data product, not only reporting.
• Understanding of postal addressing rules.
• In-depth knowledge of Excel and MySQL.
• Understanding of statistics to evaluate data quality, coverage, and accuracy.
• Attention to detail, identify trends, and determine data validity.
• Critical thinking and ability to turn findings into an actionable plan.
• Experience with data compilation, sourcing, matching, deduplication, or data hygiene processes (NCOA or CASS) is a plus.
• 2 year college degree (4 year preferred).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and inspect data files to verify, characterize, and measure data accuracy, completeness, and coverage.
• Identify gaps, errors, and opportunities in data and propose improvements.
• Plan and prioritize improvements and additions to databases, maintaining a roadmap.
• Evaluate new data sources and advise on integration and contributions to products.
• Define data standards, field definitions, and quality benchmarks, and track progress.
• Collaborate with IT to carry out data projects from specification through testing and release.
• Gather input from customers and internal teams to understand how data is used and how to improve it.
• Make decisions based on facts and present clear recommendations to management.
