Job Summary
Hands-on Data Privacy / Data Catalog Engineer to support enterprise data discovery and governance with Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) as the primary platform. The role focuses on source onboarding, scan configuration, catalog operations, and troubleshooting access/connectivity issues across AWS and multiple database technologies. Key Responsibilities
  • CDGC scanning & onboarding: Configure and operate CDGC metadata/data scans, schedules, scope rules, and performance-safe scan settings; onboard new sources end-to-end.
  • Connection setup: Create and maintain secure connections (JDBC/ODBC/connectors), service accounts, and credential management for enterprise data platforms.
  • Access troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve scan failures related to RBAC/privileges, expired credentials, TLS/certificates, drivers, firewall/ports, DNS, and network routes.
  • Catalog operations: Curate catalog assets (domains, tags, ownership/stewardship), support glossary alignment, improve metadata quality, and ensure consistent taxonomy/naming standards.
  • Sensitive data support: Assist with configuring and validating sensitive data identification/classification outcomes (PII/PHI/PCI) and reduce false positives/negatives in partnership with data owners.
  • AWS support: Work within AWS environments to enable scanning connectivity (VPC/security groups, private endpoints/PrivateLink patterns where applicable) and support components running on EKS (logs, configs, secrets, scaling) when needed.
  • Operational excellence: Provide scan coverage and health reporting, and support incident/problem management for catalog/scanning services.
Required Qualifications

  • Strong SQL skills and ability to validate schemas, permissions, and scan behavior.
  • Solid understanding of authentication/authorization concepts (least privilege, service accounts), secure credential handling, and basic network troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with BigID (discovery/classification, scan operations) in a supporting capacity.
  • AWS experience, including EKS operational familiarity (Kubernetes basics, logs, secrets/config management).
