Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager, Data & Platform Engineering at the Vice President level to lead a Cloud and Platform Security team. You will define the technical direction, manage engineers, and translate complex business problems into scalable data solutions for large-scale platforms.

You will partner with product, security, and compliance teams to ensure reliability, observability, and governance while delivering actionable data-driven insights to application teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a tech lead or people manager role.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to stay technically engaged while leading.
• Proven ability to translate complex business problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Experience delivering data products that provide actionable insights to end users.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for large-scale data products and platforms.
• Architect end-to-end data pipelines and platforms for high-volume ingestion, processing, and analytics.
• Establish engineering standards, reviews, and patterns for software and data systems.
• Mentor engineers, foster engineering excellence, and partner with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
