Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer to lead and shape data architecture while guiding delivery across complex projects.

You will architect ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming systems, and data services using Spring Boot, ReactJS, NoSQL, and related tools, collaborating with stakeholders and multiple engineering teams. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, focusing on delivering robust, scalable solutions in an Agile environment and ensuring

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant data engineering experience
• Strong core Python skills for data engineering tasks
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying
• Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude Code
• Experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics workflows
• Excellent English proficiency (B2 level or higher)

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and streaming systems
• Build infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources
• Identify and implement internal process improvements for scalability
• Design data services using Spring Boot, ReactJS, NoSQL, and related UI/API tools
• Ensure governance of delivery management and production processes
• Act as single point of responsibility for delivery with stakeholders
• Provide technical leadership for future-proof architecture and quality standards
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria in an Agile/Scrum workflow
• Coordinate across disciplines to align delivery efforts
• Establish delivery-risk management strategy across lifecycle
• Support production deployment and delivery productivity
