Job summary

Cyvl, Inc. in Boston is building infrastructure intelligence from street-level capture used by 500+ cities. We seek a data-ops student to own pieces of our pipeline, run deliveries end-to-end, and write scripts that speed up the next delivery while catching data issues before customers see them.

You will work on processing, validating, and publishing road condition and inventory layers, with a focus on geospatial data and automation in Python.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in CS, data science, or related field.
• Proficient in Python for scripting, data transformation, and validation.
• Comfortable with the terminal and version control.
• Available full-time for 10–12 weeks in Summer 2027, based in Boston office.

Responsibilities

• Process customer deliveries end to end. Run geospatial data through our Python pipelines, validate the output, and publish the final layers to the Cyvl platform
• Build QC checks to review data automatically
• Investigate failed and stalled processing jobs in our AWS pipelines, find root cause, and document the fix
• Automate recurring manual steps into repeatable scripts and runbooks, and measure time saved
• Partner with engineering and customer success to turn field-reported issues into resolutions either by code fixes or process improvements
