Job summary

Radley James in Chicago is seeking a Data Operations Engineer to support trading data platforms and act as the primary point of contact for traders and quant teams. You will design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs for market and reference data, and ensure data quality across the data stack.

Collaborate with external vendors to ensure reliability of upstream data, automate data quality checks, and deliver high-performance data services that underpin trading ideas and profit generation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in Data Engineer, SRE, Data Ops or similar in a front office trader facing environment.
• Modern Lakehouse experience such as Delta Lake / Databricks / Snowflake.
• Exposure to market data on tradfi asset classes.

We are working with a trading team in Chicago to search for Data Operations Engineers to handle a broad set of core data technologies, vital to the team's trading idea generation and profit making.

What you'll do

• Act as primary PoC for traders and their quant teams, providing platform operational support to data platforms.


• Resolve issues relating to data freshness, quality and availability


• Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring reliability and accuracy of upstream data


• Design build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines


• Build and maintain high performance APIs in relation to market data and reference data, vital to trading success


• Automate data quality validation, monitoring and detection frameworks

What you need

• 3+ years experience in Data Engineer, SRE, Data Ops or similar within a front office trader facing environment (IB is fine, but must be interfacing daily with traders)


• Modern Lakehouse experience such as Delta Lake / Databricks / Snowflake


• Exposure to market data on tradfi asset classes
