Electric Reliability Council of Texas seeks a data reliability and platform stewardship lead to ensure reliability, availability, and efficiency of ERCOT’s data platforms across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will champion incident response, automation, monitoring, and governance.
You will drive migrations, optimize pipelines, architect observability, and mentor analysts while ensuring compliance with ITIL, change control, and FinOps practices that align with cost and performance goals.
Ensure the reliability, availability, and operational excellence of data platforms across cloud and on‑premises environments by leading incident response, driving automation, and implementing robust monitoring and observability frameworks. This role oversees migrations and releases with strict compliance and integrity standards, optimizes data pipelines and storage strategies for performance and cost efficiency, and develops disaster recovery and business continuity plans. It also enforces security and governance controls, manages FinOps and capacity planning for data workloads, and fosters organizational learning through mentorship and knowledge sharing to advance best practices in data reliability and operational excellence.
5+ years of job‑related work experience in excess of degree requirements; extensive experience with enterprise‑scale cloud and on‑premises data platforms; background in ITIL process implementation and operational governance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field; or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
Expected Salary Range: $99,000 - $136,000. Full‑time employees are eligible to enroll in benefits on the first of the month following hire. 401(k) plans are available to help employees plan for the future.
