Job summary

Cambridge Associates LLC. is seeking an Analyst in Data Operations to support investment data, reporting, and databases from our Arlington office.

You will work with investment managers, analysts, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and timely delivery of insights. Responsibilities include data validation, process improvement, and training materials creation, using Excel for analysis and collaborating with IT to resolve issues and maintain data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with 1–2 years of professional experience in finance, operations, data management, data analysis, or process improvement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including formulas, conditional formatting, data validation, pivot tables, and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Represent the firm by establishing relationships with external investment managers.
• Collaborate with external managers to incorporate new investment ideas into internal databases.
• Use investment data calculation methods (e.g., TWR, IRR, Modified Dietz) for accurate data entry and analysis.
• Review financial documents (balance sheets, cash flow statements, factsheets, agreements) to perform analysis.
• Manage portfolios in internal databases and coordinate with staff to fulfill requests.
• Investigate and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide guidance for outsourced data-entry functions and create training material.
• Leverage Excel to generate insights and support decisions.
• Partner with IT to resolve technical issues and ensure data integrity.
• Work with teams on small projects and cross-functional initiatives.
