Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a Data/Migration Engineer to execute and support data migration, cleansing, profiling, and transformation for VA OIT PDS BAM MBS programs, ensuring secure and reliable IT solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS or IT and 10+ years' experience with ETL/ELT, DDL/DML, cloud migration (AWS/VAEC), data masking, and BI support; familiarity with Liquibase, Flyway, DMS, GoldenGate; and a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT required.
• 10+ years of experience in data migration and related analytics.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processing and data transformation.
• Experience implementing data masking/sanitization and DDL/DML updates.
• Experience supporting cloud migration (AWS, VAEC) and legacy modernization.
• Knowledge of data governance, BI support, and data quality monitoring.
• Public Trust clearance or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Execute data migration, cleansing, profiling, and transformation tasks.
• Prepare test data and manage database refresh operations.
• Support data migration strategies, planning, and testing across environments.
• Develop and maintain data models, dictionaries, catalogs, and migration documentation.
• Mask/sanitize data during production refreshes and maintain repeatable processes.
• Provide BI integration support and FinOps data analysis.
• Maintain and review architecture artifacts and participate in peer reviews.
