Job summary

Direct Client in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Data Modeler to analyze and develop complex data models and reporting structures. The role requires strong SQL/Hive skills, NoSQL experience, and a solid foundation in statistics to support data-driven decision making.

The candidate will collaborate with product, technology, and business teams to drive analyses, define key metrics, and create dashboards for business process management and data mining.

Qualifications

• Strong foundations in math, statistics, calculus, and game theory.
• Experience in optimization spaces such as resource allocation, pricing, etc.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Technical expertise regarding data models, storage schema, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Hive queries.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Java, Scala).
• Hands-on experience accessing data from NoSQL storage (Couchbase, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages (Excel, R, SPSS, SAS).
• Knowledge of JSON, XML would be a plus.
• Data visualization and reporting using Tableau, QlikView, or Pentaho.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

One of our direct client is urgently looking for a Data Modeler at Sunnyvale, CA.

Description

Job Duties:

• Accountable for analyzing and developing complex logical database designs, logical data models, and relational data definitions in support of corporate and customer information systems requirements.
• Understands the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions/operations.

An ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate about discovering and solving complicated problems, learning complex systems, working with numbers, and organizing and communicating data and reports. The candidate should be interested in the e-commerce industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with product, technology, and business teams to drive complex data and trend analyses to root cause issues and propose ways to improve the platform.
• Responsible for defining, developing, and communicating key metrics and business trends to partner and management teams
• Model data in order to create reporting and dashboards for business process management and data mining.
• Pull data required to conduct business analysis, build reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance.
• Work with the stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
