Data Modeler (3NF / Canonical Models)

Location: Hybrid – Columbia, SC

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design and maintain high-quality conceptual, logical, and physical data models. The role focuses on 3NF and canonical data modeling to support enterprise applications and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Define data modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into data models
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across systems
• Document data models, metadata, data flows, and data dictionaries
• Collaborate with development teams and participate in model reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 4+ years of hands‑on data modeling experience
• Strong experience with 3NF and/or canonical data models
• Proficiency with data modeling tools (Erwin, ER/Studio)
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
• Familiarity with data warehousing and cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks preferred)
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
