Job summary

JPS Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Migration Development Lead to guide enterprise-scale migrations on AWS. The role focuses on end-to-end migration design, development, testing, and production cutover, ensuring data quality, reconciliation, and operational readiness.

You will lead a team to build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and DMS, using Python, SQL, and PySpark.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL, Data Migration, or related field.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, AWS DMS.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and PySpark/Spark.
• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise data migration projects.
• Understanding of data reconciliation, validation, transformation, and quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data migration development, testing, deployment, production cutover, and post-migration validation.
• Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, DMS).
• Develop robust migration solutions using Python, SQL, PySpark and Spark.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Development Lead to lead the design, development, testing, and execution of enterprise-scale data migration solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in AWS data engineering, ETL/ELT development, migration architecture, and technical leadership.

This role will be responsible for driving migration initiatives from development through production cutover while ensuring data quality, reconciliation, performance, security, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data migration development, testing, deployment, production cutover, and post-migration validation.
• Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services including:
  • AWS Glue
  • Amazon S3
  • AWS Lambda
  • AWS Step Functions
  • AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
• Develop robust migration solutions using Python, SQL, PySpark, and Spark.
• Implement data transformation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and audit controls.
• Design and implement incremental and Change Data Capture (CDC) migration processes.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead and mentor development teams, conduct code reviews, establish development standards, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Plan and execute mock migrations, dress rehearsals, production cutovers, and post-migration validation.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational controls.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for migration solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, data engineers, business stakeholders, and project leadership to ensure successful migration delivery.
• Identify and resolve data quality, performance, integration, and migration-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL, Data Migration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • AWS Glue
  • Amazon S3

  • AWS Step Functions
  • AWS DMS
  • Amazon CloudWatch
  • AWS IAM
• Strong programming and data engineering skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark/Spark.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise data migration projects.
• Strong understanding of data reconciliation, validation, transformation, and quality controls.
• Experience managing production cutovers and post-migration validation.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning capabilities.
• Excellent technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Redshift, Aurora/RDS, EMR, and Athena.
• Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven data architectures.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• AWS certification is a plus.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments with complex migration requirements.
