Job summary

Federal Reserve seeks a senior data management leader to drive the CDP data platform, data cataloging, access management, and taxonomies. You will mentor staff, align with regulatory expectations, and partner with senior stakeholders to advance data governance and quality.

Responsibilities include defining future-state access models, implementing ABAC, and coordinating with Board and regulators to improve risk management and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, information management, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 6+ years in data management/regulatory leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with Federal Reserve S&R data policies.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience implementing change management and communications plans for data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
  • Onsite work requirement within commuting distance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day CDS/CDP data management implementation.
  • Manage data cataloging, access management, records management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Lead scalable data management solutions and support models to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Lead metadata, data cataloging initiatives, taxonomies, and data quality frameworks.
  • Partner with S&R stakeholders to promote adoption of data management practices.
  • Represent S&R in defining future-state access management solution
  • Support transition from RBAC to ABAC access control
  • Interact with senior regulators to address escalations and improve practices
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate organizational data management strategies
  • Mentor data management and project management professionals
  • Lead staff development, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Develop metrics to measure data management success
  • Direct execution of CDP data management strategy and risk mitigation
  • Report to CDP S&R Business Director and local S&R leadership

Job description

  • Oversee day-to-day S&R Common Data Platform data management implementation
  • Manage data cataloging, access management, records management, and communications with Board and System data management stakeholders
  • Lead scalable data management solutions and support models to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Lead metadata and data cataloging initiatives, data access enablement, business data taxonomies and relationships, and data quality frameworks
  • Partner with S&R stakeholders to facilitate adoption of data management practices and identify opportunities to strengthen or expand capabilities
  • Represent S&R in defining and implementing the future-state access management solution
  • Support S&R’s transition from RBAC to ABAC access control
  • Interact with senior management at Reserve Banks, the Board of Governors, and other regulators to resolve escalated issues and provide continuous improvement recommendations
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate organizational data management strategies supporting CDP and S&R initiatives
  • Mentor data management and project management professionals
  • Attract, motivate, develop, and lead staff while providing resources, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Develop methodologies to measure data management success and continuously improve approaches
  • Direct execution of the CDP business data management strategy, including action plans, risk mitigation, consultation, coaching, communication, training, coordination, and feedback management
  • Report to the CDP S&R Business Director and administratively to a leader in the local S&R function
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, information management, or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically 6 or more years of experience with banking and regulatory activities, including demonstrated leadership experience, or equivalent relevant regulatory/supervisory leadership experience
  • Familiarity with S&R and Board data policies
  • Leadership, problem-solving, analytical, influence, and decision-making skills
  • Experience developing and implementing change management and communications plans focused on data management
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and motivate others
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Program and project management skills, including planning and execution

  • Broad knowledge of Federal Reserve S&R data, operations, regulations, and policies
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Prior management experience in S&R and hands‑on expertise leading System strategic data management initiatives preferred
  • Certification with industry data management frameworks such as DCAM or DMBOK preferred
  • General understanding of S&R access management solutions and information security requirements
  • Knowledge of ABAC and RBAC access models preferred
  • Intermediate understanding of agile practices, product management, and/or cloud services preferred
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance as defined by the employing Reserve Bank
  • Must work full‑time onsite

  • Certain positions may require Protected Individual status under 12 CFR 268.205
