Job summary

Interclypse is seeking an Applications Development Expert to design enterprise-scale applications and integrations across the business. You will apply long-term IT strategy and craft robust software solutions while collaborating with internal teams.

The role requires 7+ years in IT, strong OO design skills, and a track record coaching junior staff. Experience with enterprise integrations and standards is essential. Onsite Maryland positions with a growth-focused culture are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years IT and business/industry experience.
  • 3+ years as a technical expert coaching junior staff and influencing complex IT decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise-level applications and major integrations.
  • Provide expertise for cross-business application integrations.
  • Define specifications and design complex software solutions using OO programming.
  • Assist in difficult support problems and optimize code quality.
  • Develop standards, architectures, and reuse strategies for code.
  • Adhere to modern development methodologies and best practices.
  • Research emerging technologies and assess business applicability.
  • Act as internal consultant, mentor, and change agent.

Interclypse is supporting several Maryland state agencies in the modernization and sustainment of critical systems. All positions are required to be onsite at various locations in Maryland.


Responsibilities

The Applications Development Expert provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. The position shall use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers. This individual will be viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. His/her responsibilities include performing the following tasks:


A. Developing enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features;


B. Providing expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business;


C. Determining specifications, then plans, designs, and developing the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes (either individually or in concert with a project team);


D. Assisting in the most difficult support problems;


E. Developing programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse;


F. Understanding and consistently applying the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies;


G. Researching and maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business; and


H. Acting as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent.


Requirements

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience. (Note: A Master’s degree is preferred.)

  • Seven (7) years of IT and business/industry work experience.

  • Three (3) years as a technical expert in an IT organization. This individual coaches and mentors the junior technical staff. The position will also provide technical input into the most complex and high impact IT decisions. This individual will be accountable for the most complex enterprise-wide applications and issues, translating highly complex concepts for peers and customers. The position must have in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art programming languages and object-oriented approach in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs
