Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data governance or data management.

• Experience supporting enterprise MDM/MDG platforms, SAP MDG preferred.
• Hands-on SAP data processes across MM, PP, QM, EWM, TPM, and SCM.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical data solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

Data Lead — Data Governance & MDG Transformation

Overview:

Are you a seasoned data professional with a passion for driving enterprise data maturity? We are seeking a dynamic Data Lead specialized in Data Governance and SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) to shape the future of data management within a rapidly evolving manufacturing environment. This pivotal role will partner with cross-functional teams, including Enterprise Data Governance, SAP, Business Applications, and manufacturing operations, to assess current capabilities, identify gaps, and design scalable, effective data governance solutions. Your expertise will help elevate the organization’s data quality, stewardship, and compliance, ensuring that data becomes a strategic asset fueling operational excellence and decision-making.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or enterprise data solutions
• Strong understanding of data governance principles including data ownership, stewardship, workflows, approvals, and auditability
• Proven experience supporting or implementing enterprise MDM/MDG platforms, with SAP MDG experience strongly preferred
• Hands-on knowledge of SAP data processes across domains such as Material Management, Production Planning, Quality Management, EWM, TPM, and Supply Chain
• Expertise in conducting current-state assessments, gap analyses, and developing strategic roadmaps for data governance initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical and systemic data solutions
• Excellent stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where operational maturity is evolving

Nice to Have Skills:

• Hands-on SAP MDG implementation, configuration, or process design experience
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data governance and lifecycle management
• Familiarity with PLM-to-SAP data flows, particularly with 3DX, BOM, and parts management
• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or high-tech industries
• Knowledge of data cataloging, data lineage, metadata management, and data quality tools
• Experience in business case development for enterprise data initiatives

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 8-10 years of relevant experience supporting enterprise data governance, MDM/MDG solutions, particularly within manufacturing or high-tech sectors

Other Requirements:

• Location: Foster City, CA (onsite) – remote candidates will not be considered
• Employment Type: W2 only
• Duration: 6+ months, with potential for extension or conversion
• Availability to start ASAP
• No travel requirements anticipated
