AA&D is comprised of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Development, Advancement Communications, Events & Donor Relations (ACEDR), University Development and Advancement Solutions (UDAS), the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA), and Office of Talent, Administration and Policy (OTAP).
This full‑time confidential exempt position is responsible for managing data integrity and ensuring the availability of high‑quality biographical data for fundraising and engagement activities, reporting and analytics. Of key importance is the ongoing work to add new records to the Alumni Affairs & Development (AA&D) CRM, Advance, in particular the import of information from the University’s Student Information System (SIS). This work enables the creation of alumni records as students graduate and creates the foundation of AA&D’s work to engage and raise funds from its alumni.
Using multiple data sources and software tools, the manager will also explore, recommend, and carry out biographical data integrity projects to ensure high‑quality CRM data is available as colleagues undertake alumni outreach efforts, donor solicitation plans, and reporting and analysis of outcomes to support data‑driven strategies within AA&D.
The Data Integrity Manager will collaborate with managers in Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) on the evaluation and improvement of business systems and processes to optimize biographical data accuracy. This includes but is not limited to critical analysis of projects and processes, identifying opportunities to leverage Harvard‑approved Artificial Intelligence (AI) and similar tools to build efficiencies, enhance accuracy, and reduce manual processes. This person will also collaborate with managers in AA&D Advancement Solutions, in particular the Data Acquisition Manager, to refine and enhance processes and procedures for optimal biographical records management.
The position requires relevant technical experience, operational expertise, and exemplary communication and project management skills. The ideal candidate will be organized and professional, focused on prioritizing their colleagues and the objectives of Harvard’s AA&D organization.
Work Format Details: This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non‑Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard‑designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
