Direct Report To: Director of National Accounts

Summary: The Data Insights & Shelf Set Coordinator leads the development and implementation of shopper-first shelf-set strategies across beer, wine, spirits, ready-to-drink products, and adjacent beverage segments. The role converts shopper, consumer, category, and sales data into practical assortment, space, and merchandising recommendations that improve the shopping experience and drive category growth. This position leads a team and owns the shelf-set process from insight development and strategic design through execution, measurement, and continuous improvement.

Shopper-First Shelf-Set Strategy and Execution
  • Lead shopper-first shelf-set strategies across beer, wine, spirits, ready-to-drink products, and adjacent beverage segments.
  • Create planograms, assortment recommendations, shelving standards, and space-allocation strategies that improve navigation, product discovery, category performance, and retailer value.
  • Lead shelf resets, modular reviews, and retailer-specific projects from strategic planning through field implementation and post-execution evaluation.
  • Adapt shelf-set strategies by retailer, channel, store cluster, geography, shopper profile, and category-purchasing behavior.
Data Insights and Category Analytics
  • Integrate Circana, retailer point-of-sale, shopper, loyalty, household panel, internal sales, Beer Institute, and supplier category-management data to identify actionable insights.
  • Evaluate assortment productivity, item incrementality, space-to-sales relationships, distribution gaps, duplication, out-of-stocks, and emerging category trends.
  • Translate complex data into clear recommendations, dashboards, scorecards, and presentations for sales teams, commercial leadership, suppliers, and retailer partners.
  • Measure shelf-set performance and establish test-and-learn programs that support continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional and Customer Leadership
  • Partner with Category Management, Sales, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Commercial Strategy, Revenue Growth Management, suppliers, and retailers to develop customer-specific shelving recommendations and category reviews.
  • Balance shopper needs, category growth, retailer strategies, operational requirements, and company portfolio priorities.
  • Present shelf-set strategies and supporting insights to internal leadership and retail customers.
  • Serve as the company subject-matter expert for shelf planning, assortment analytics, space productivity, and shopper-led merchandising.
Team, Process, and Program Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of two by establishing clear responsibilities, priorities, performance expectations, and professional-development plans.
  • Manage shelf-set calendars, project timelines, analytical standards, templates, documentation, and quality-control processes.
  • Ensure shelf-set recommendations and customer materials comply with company policies, retailer requirements, applicable alcohol regulations, and trade-practice rules.
  • Improve reporting, automation, data quality, workflow efficiency, and consistency across the shelf-set process.

Secondary Duties
  • Support special category-management, customer, supplier, and commercial projects as assigned.
  • Participate in retailer meetings, market visits, shelf resets, industry events, and relevant training.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as business needs require.
Customer Service Skills:
  • Ability to build productive relationships with retailer partners, suppliers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, listening, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities: Minimum of 5 years of Sales Experience, required. Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, marketing, economics, merchandising, or a related field preferred. Experience in category management, shopper insights, space planning, sales analytics, or retail analytics within beverage alcohol or consumer packaged goods is preferred. Familiarity with Circana, NielsenIQ, Numerator, SPINS, retailer loyalty platforms, or comparable data sources; space-planning tools such as Blue Yonder, JDA, Nielsen Spaceman, or Apollo; and visualization or analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Alteryx. Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of beverage-alcohol retail channels, regulatory considerations, and three-tier distribution dynamics.

Requirements

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record may be required. Relevant category-management, analytics, category insights or space-planning certifications are preferred but not required.

Physical Demands: This position primarily requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, and using a computer and other office equipment. The employee may occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds and must be able to navigate retail environments during store visits and shelf-set execution. Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment with regular interaction across departments. The role also requires periodic travel to retail accounts, customer meetings, market visits, shelf resets, and industry events. The employee may occasionally work outside normal business hours to support customer deadlines or major shelf-set implementations.
