Job summary

TikTok is seeking a campus intern to join our Search Engineering/Data Infrastructure teams in San Jose. You will work on building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines, feature engineering platforms, and training data pipelines while gaining hands-on industry experience.

The role emphasizes collaboration with ML, NLP, CV, and recommender systems teams, with a strong focus on production-grade data infrastructure and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Strong programming skills in Java, C++, or Python.
• Production experience with data frameworks such as Spark, Flink, or Hive/Iceberg.
• Solid distributed systems fundamentals, and the ability to debug and optimize complex systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and own query/video pipelines at scale with near-real-time freshness.
• Develop the feature engineering platform with online/offline consistency.
• Create streaming and batch pipelines turning user actions into training data.
• Improve data quality, observability, and cost efficiency at PB scale.
