Job summary

ExlService Holdings, Inc. seeks a senior data governance professional to own enterprise data ownership, glossary standardization, and metadata across domains. You will define data quality rules, monitor effectiveness, and partner with Data Engineering to remediate issues.

You will classify sensitive data, document lineage, and drive governance for modernization projects migrating from legacy systems to AWS and Databricks environments. Strong collaboration with risk and privacy teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data governance, stewardship, quality, or management.
• Knowledge of metadata, lineage, classification, access governance, and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain data ownership, glossaries, CDEs, dictionaries, and metadata standards.
• Establish and monitor data quality rules, controls, and thresholds with remediation coordination.
• Classify PII, confidential and sensitive data assets with documented access controls and retention policies.
• Document and maintain end-to-end data lineage across source systems, pipelines, and analytical products.
• Support governance for data modernization, including migration to AWS and Databricks.
• Facilitate cross-functional governance forums to align data definitions, ownership, and quality.
• Develop governance policies, standards, processes, documentation, metrics, and reporting.
• Define governance requirements for data contracts: ownership, definitions, quality, sensitivity, lineage, usage.
• Collaborate with Data Modelers/Engineers/Product teams on contract lifecycle: schema evolution, versioning, change management, accountability.
• Promote adoption of data governance best practices and accountability for data stewardship across stakeholders.
