Job summary

Prescient Edge in Miami, FL seeks a data governance professional to oversee metadata management, data lineage, and regulatory compliance for datasets stored in the Data Lake. This role focuses on implementing RBAC controls and aligning with DoD and NIST 800-53 guidelines.

You will integrate tools like Unity Catalog, Collibra, and AWS Glue, establish governance policies across cloud and on-prem environments, and contribute to secure, compliant data operations for sensitive government data.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee metadata management and data lineage tracking across the Data Lake.
• Use Unity Catalog/OpenLineage to improve discoverability and security.
• Implement RBAC in line with DoD and NIST 800-53.
• Prepare Data Governance & Compliance reports on lineage and policy adherence.
• Establish and maintain data governance policies for cloud and on-prem environments.
• Expertise in DoD/IC data security, DoD IL-4/IL-5, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 Rev.5.
• Experience with data classification models, access controls, and policy-based data lifecycle management.
• Develop and manage data governance frameworks and data cataloging solutions for DoD/IC data security.

Description

• Oversee metadata management, data lineage tracking, and regulatory compliance for all datasets stored within the Data Lake environment.
• Integrate Unity Catalog and OpenLineage methodologies to enhance discoverability, classification, and security of mission-critical datasets.
• Implement role-based access control (RBAC) measures, ensuring that authorized personnel access data per DoD and NIST 800-53 compliance guidelines.
• Submit the Data Governance & Compliance Report, providing an assessment of data lineage, regulatory adherence, and metadata completeness. Experience:
• Possess the knowledge and capability to establish, enforce, and maintain data governance policies and frameworks across cloud-based and on premises environments.
• Personnel must be proficient in metadata management, data lineage tracking, data cataloging, and regulatory compliance standards such as DoD IL-4/IL-5, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 Rev. 5.
• Experience with data classification models, access controls, and policy-based data lifecycle management is required.
• Personnel must have demonstrated experience in developing and managing data governance frameworks, implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions, and ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.
• Experience with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview is required. Education:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance.
• Desirable but not required certifications include Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• Security clearance: An active TS/SCI clearance.
