Job summary

System One is seeking a mid-level Data Analyst for a 12+ month contract, with hybrid work requiring 3 days on-site weekly in Vienna, VA / Winchester, VA or Pensacola, FL. The role focuses on governance artifacts, data dictionaries, and data lineage to enable broader enterprise use.

You will leverage advanced SQL and data storytelling to drive backlog remediation, collaborate with governance partners and stakeholders, and prepare artifacts for leadership reviews.

Qualifications

• Significant experience researching and documenting data flows and analytical workflows.
• Advanced SQL skills to query large datasets and validate field logic.
• Ability to manage complex workstreams with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
• Experience creating data dictionaries, metadata, and STTM documentation.
• Knowledge of data governance concepts and data quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead remediation of a large data governance backlog with deliverables and timelines.
• Identify priority tables and develop governance artifacts for usability and trust.
• Create data dictionaries, STTM, CDE documentation, and lineage context.
• Profile and document tables using SQL, including transformations and business rules.
• Collaborate with governance teams to align with enterprise standards and workflows.
• Translate technical findings into clear stakeholder updates and risk assessments.
• Support democratization of governed data and develop Power BI dashboards to track progress.
