Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Business Data Governance Analyst to bridge business stakeholders with the Enterprise Data Platform team in a banking environment. You will translate business needs into technical data requirements and deliver insights through Power BI reporting and dashboards.

The role requires strong SQL Server experience, data troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings across teams, while supporting enterprise data quality and governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• 5+ years of data analysis, data management, or related field.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with EDW environments or large-scale enterprise data ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting, operational, and analytical data needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements for data engineering and technical teams.
• Investigate data discrepancies and perform root cause analysis across source systems, data lakes, and EDW.
• Validate data accuracy and troubleshoot issues involving business logic and data movement processes.
• Perform advanced SQL Server analysis against enterprise data assets and reporting environments.
• Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation and data flow diagrams.
• Develop and support enterprise data quality and governance initiatives.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Present data findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data modelers, architects, and business partners to deliver data solutions.
• Support data lineage, governance, and data validation across platforms.
• Analyze reporting issues and implement preventative controls to improve trust in enterprise data.
• Document business rules, technical requirements, data definitions, and governance standards.
• Participate in Agile delivery processes and cross-functional projects.
• Serve as SME for enterprise data quality, reporting accuracy, and business data analysis.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually plus full benefits

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Business Data Governance Analyst to serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and the Enterprise Data Platform team within a banking environment. This role focuses on translating business needs into technical data requirements, investigating data quality issues, performing SQL-based analysis, validating enterprise data, and delivering insights through Power BI reporting and dashboards. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL Server expertise, analytical thinking, data troubleshooting skills, business communication, and experience working within large-scale enterprise data environments.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, business data analysis, or a related field
• Extensive experience with SQL Server and writing complex SQL queries
• Experience working within Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environments or large-scale enterprise data ecosystems
• Experience investigating data issues and performing root cause analysis
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions
• Experience creating source-to-target mappings and performing data flow analysis
• Experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Banking, financial services, or fintech industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data technologies
• Knowledge of data governance concepts including data quality, lineage, cataloging, and business glossary management
• Experience with governance platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, Alteryx, Microsoft Purview, or similar tools
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments
• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data certifications, or Microsoft Fabric certifications
• Experience supporting enterprise data platforms, data lakes, and analytical data stores
• Exposure to data validation frameworks and enterprise reporting controls
• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as banking or financial services
• Understanding of enterprise data architecture and data governance best practices
• Experience supporting Microsoft-centric analytics and reporting environments
