Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of South Carolina in Charleston is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role involves entering new and refilled prescriptions, triaging faxes, and ensuring accurate notes in the computer system to support timely dispensing.

The ideal candidate has state license/certification as a pharmacy technician, 2+ years of related experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required per state.
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration required per state.
  • National Certification (PTCB) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and refill prescriptions accurately and timely.
  • Triage incoming faxed prescriptions for timely dispensing.
  • Verify dosage based on prescription.
  • Respond to customer calls with courtesy and route as appropriate.
  • Ensure processing is completed during the shift.
  • Communicate with doctors’ offices on refills as needed.
  • Develop proficiency with all pharmacy systems.
  • Assist with filing, packaging, inventory, and dispensing.

Job description

Guardian Pharmacy of South Carolina is a rapidly growing pharmacy services provider in Charleston, South Carolina. We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 6:00 pm with rotating Saturdays every 9–10 weeks.

Essential Job Functions
  • Enter new and refill prescriptions into the operating system accurately and timely.
  • Triage incoming faxed prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing.
  • Ensure proper notes in the computer and cycle fill coding.
  • Calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescription.
  • Demonstrate caring, understanding, and courtesy when responding to calls from customers; route calls as appropriate.
  • Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed during the regular shift.
  • Receive, evaluate, process, and follow up as needed with doctors’ offices on all refills assigned.
  • Develop proficiency in utilizing all pharmacy systems (e.g., document imaging, legacy pharmacy computer operating system).
  • Assist with filing completed orders, packaging medications, inventory, profiling orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions to dispense to patients as needed.
  • Develop and learn cycles to meet delivery deadlines; maintain data entry records for cycle medication, fill requests, and process cycle medication orders needing renewal in addition to new cycle orders as applicable.
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed.

Education and/or Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements).
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB).

  • 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience).
  • Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal direction.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment handling multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Quality‑minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
