Job summary

Whirlwind Steel in Houston is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support production and drafting teams. You will handle data entry, CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checks to help deliver fast and accurate fabrication shop outputs.

The role requires proficiency with AutoCAD and ProNest, strong data accuracy, and ability to coordinate across departments in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with AutoCAD and ProNest or willingness to learn.
• Strong data entry and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Input data for generating cut lists while understanding shop methods, equipment capacities, and requirements.
• Review weekly schedules and verify documents are available for every scheduled order.
• Forward shop detail questions to appropriate parties and process revisions.
• Sort Oracle lines and shop details by department to provide accurate information to each fabrication line.
• Utilize CAD and ProNest for CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checking of work to meet shop requirements.
• Collaborate with the team to assist in programming, CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checking for the shop.
