Job summary

Airwallex in San Francisco is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team within our Strategic Data Org. You will scale data foundations powering Airwallex products, analytics, and operations.

Responsibilities include data modeling, building batch and streaming ETL pipelines, and driving governance and data quality across multiple domains. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders, mentor engineers, and help advance the data+AI strategy across the platform,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IS/finance/math or related field.
• 8+ years designing and implementing ETL pipelines with data integration tools.
• 2+ years directly managing or leading data engineers.
• Proficiency in SQL and data warehousing; experience with GCP BigQuery and Airflow.
• Ability to set technical direction and align with stakeholders; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead a data engineering team within the Strategic Data Org; mentor engineers.
• Own data modeling strategy, SSOT, and governance across domains.
• Oversee batch and streaming ETL pipelines; ensure data quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with PMs, DPEs, and product teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
