Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a senior data engineering lead to coordinate onshore and offshore teams across vendor groups. The role focuses on migration from Netezza to Databricks, Databricks workflows, and data lakehouse architectures.

The candidate will guide legacy conversion, ensure code quality, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with architects and stakeholders across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, or analytics engineering.
• 2+ years of experience leading onshore/offshore engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, SQL, and Python/PySpark.
• Experience with IBM Netezza or similar legacy data warehouse platforms.
• Experience supporting data platform migration or modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead onshore and offshore data engineering teams across vendor groups.
• Drive technical delivery for migration from Netezza to Databricks.
• Translate business and architecture requirements into designs and tasks.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and Databricks workflows.
• Guide conversion of legacy Netezza logic into Databricks solutions.
• Ensure code quality, performance tuning, testing, and best practices.
• Coordinate with architects, project managers, stakeholders, and vendors.
• Provide mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, deployment, and production support.
• Support data validation, cutover planning, and post-migration stabilization.
