Job summary

Margaritaville at Sea is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch analytics, based in Orlando. You will lead the architecture of the enterprise data platform, selecting technologies and guiding implementation to ensure security, performance, and adaptability.

You will establish data engineering standards, enforce quality with monitoring and governance, and collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to translate business

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in data engineering with leadership experience.
  • Strong SQL and Python for pipeline development.
  • Hands-on ETL/ELT with cloud platforms (GCP or Azure).
  • Data modeling, API development, and scalable architecture.

Job Location: Orlando Office - Orlando, FL 32801

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines that support real‑time and batch processing, ensuring seamless data flow and timely, accurate information for analytics and operational teams.
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of the enterprise data platform, selecting appropriate technologies, designing scalable architecture, and overseeing implementation to keep the platform secure, high‑performing, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
  • Establish and enforce technical standards for data engineering practices, including coding, testing, documentation, and deployment to promote consistency, maintainability, and quality across all data projects.
  • Ensure data reliability and accessibility by implementing monitoring and alerting systems, developing frameworks for data quality and governance, and creating tools that allow stakeholders to trust and easily access the data they need.
  • Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver solutions that support strategic decision‑making and operational efficiency.

In addition to other duties, this position requires full commitment to promoting an ethical and compliant culture, demonstrating integrity, honesty, respectful treatment of others, and willingness to speak up regarding misconduct or concerns.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team‑lead role.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven expertise in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
  • Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, API development, and integration patterns for scalable data architecture.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and workflow automation for data engineering processes.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills to work across cross‑functional teams and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
Physical Demands & Work Conditions
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • No travel required.
  • Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • In‑person role at Orlando office.
