Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. invites motivated students to join its Data Engineering Internship in Salem, OR. You will work on real projects, gaining mentoring and exposure to upper management while pursuing full-time opportunities as available.

Responsibilities include analyzing large datasets, building ML models, and engineering features using Python, Spark, and AWS. You will present findings and partner with engineers to move prototypes toward production.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in a relevant field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Proficiency in Python with data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy).
• Coursework or hands-on experience in statistics, ML, or experimental design.
• Familiarity with SQL and Git; Spark or cloud exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large, complex datasets to surface trends and insights.
• Build, train, and validate ML models for forecasting and classification.
• Engineer features from structured and unstructured data using Python and Spark on AWS.
• Design experiments and apply statistics to assess model performance.
• Communicate findings via visualizations and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to move models toward production.

Qorvo’sData Engineering Internshipsare offered in our High Performance Analog, business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

• Explore and analyze large, complex datasets to surface trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
• Build, train, and validate machine learning models to support forecasting, classification, and optimization use cases.
• Engineer features from structured and unstructured data sources using Python and Spark on AWS.
• Design and evaluate experiments, applying statistical methods to assess significance and model performance.
• Communicate findings through clear visualizations, written summaries, and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Partner with engineers and analysts to move promising models from prototype toward production.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency in Python, including common data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy).
• Coursework or hands-on experience in statistics, machine learning, or experimental design.
• Familiarity with SQL and Git; exposure to Spark or cloud platforms is a plus.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
