Job summary

Kunai Co. in the United States is seeking Data Engineers to join a team delivering software and data engineering for a premier banking client. You will work hands-on with cloud-native technologies and modern architecture.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in application development with strong Python, 4+ years AWS, and strong SQL with PostgreSQL; experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka or Kinesis, and Airflow is preferred.

We are hiring Data Engineers to join a team driving software and data engineering for a critical initiative for a premier banking client. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cloud-native technologies and modern architecture.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in application development with strong Python programming skills.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services.
• 4+ years working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with data migration activities in cloud environments, focusing on enterprise-scale data movement and transformation.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing and batch/stream processing tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or AWS Kinesis.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or similar.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with AWS Glue or other AWS data integration services.
• Proficiency with UNIX/Linux environments, including basic shell scripting.
• Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile engineering practices.
• Prior consulting experience or aptitude for client-facing collaborative environments.

Minimum Degree Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree, in lieu of a degree, demonstrating in addition to the minimum years of experience required for the role, three years of specialized training and/or progressively responsible work experience in technology for each missing year of college isrequired
