Job description

Ready to build data pipelines that keep up as the business scales? This hybrid Data Engineer III/IV role is ideal for someone who can step into an established, mostly in-house ecosystem and bring fresh ideas and best practices to make pipelines faster, cleaner, and easier to support as volume increases. You’ll work cross-functionally to improve ETL architecture, optimize performance, and strengthen data quality across business-critical systems.

Duties
  • Build, improve, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines to support increasing inbound data volume
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and data transformations for performance, reliability, and accuracy
  • Partner with software engineers, architects, actuaries, and analysts to translate business needs into strong data solutions
  • Assemble and manage large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional requirements (security, scalability, reliability)
  • Create and maintain documentation, follow change management, and perform quality checks on business-impacting processes
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience (solid “III” level; deeper experience is the key differentiator vs. DE II)
  • Advanced SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries across relational databases (SQL Server required; PostgreSQL is a strong plus)
  • Strong Python experience building and maintaining ETL routines/pipelines
  • Proven ETL architecture experience (designing, improving, and simplifying pipelines to make delivery easier and more scalable)
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals (experience with languages like C# is transferable; ability to work in structured codebases, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance)
Nice to have: Data warehouse exposure (very strong plus)

Salary Range: $125,000–$130,000 + (based on level and experience)
