Atom Learning Ltd. is seeking a Data Engineer to shape the data platform behind our education products.

You will build scalable data pipelines, models and features, ensuring data quality and observability while partnering with product, engineering, commercial, and educational teams to deliver measurable impact. You will mentor engineers, contribute beyond the data layer when needed, and apply AI tools to research, prototype and improve solutions in a remote-first environment that values autonomy

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL skills and maintainable code.
• Experience designing, building, maintaining and scaling production data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modelling and database architecture.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and orchestration tools.

Responsabilités

• Build and evolve the data foundations behind customer-facing products, including predictive features and insights.
• Own the design, development and ongoing improvement of reliable, scalable data pipelines and models.
• Shape the technical direction of our data platform and improve data movement between application, warehouse and product surfaces.
• Create clean, well-tested, reusable solutions using Python, SQL and dbt.
• Improve data quality, observability and reliability for teams.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, commercial teams and educators to solve problems and measure impact.
• Develop tooling and patterns to help engineers self-serve data safely.
• Leverage AI tools to prototype, investigate and improve solutions.
• Contribute beyond the data layer with product features, APIs or automation.
• Review code and mentor other engineers to raise data capability.

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help shape the data platform behind some of our most important products.

• Build and evolve the data foundations behind customer‑facing products, including predictive features, adaptive learning and assessment insights.
• Own the design, development and ongoing improvement of reliable, scalable data pipelines and models.
• Shape the technical direction of our data platform and improve how data moves between our application, warehouse and product surfaces.
• Build clean, well‑tested and reusable solutions using Python, SQL and dbt.
• Improve data quality, observability and reliability so teams can trust the data they use.
• Work with product, engineering, commercial teams and educational experts to understand problems, shape solutions and measure their impact.
• Make data easier for others to use by creating clear models, tooling and patterns that help engineers and teams self‑serve safely and confidently.
• Use AI tools and agents throughout your work to research, prototype, investigate and get to better solutions faster.
• Contribute beyond the data layer where it helps solve a problem effectively, including product features, APIs, internal tools or automation.
• Review code, share expertise and help raise the standard of data engineering across Atom.
• Mentor other engineers and help develop data capability across the wider engineering team.

• You communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical colleagues and can make complex data problems understandable.
• You use AI tools and agents confidently as part of how you learn, investigate and build.
• You’re comfortable working beyond a narrowly defined specialism when that is what the problem requires.
