The Clickstream Data Products team builds and operates the trusted data products that power the collection, validation, enrichment, and delivery of traveler interaction data across Expedia Group's digital experiences. From page views and search interactions to bookings and post-booking actions, our platform enables teams across Product, Analytics, Data Science, Experimentation, and Engineering to leverage high-quality behavioral data for insights, decision-making, measurement, and innovation.

As a Data Engineer III on the Clickstream Data Products team, you will design, build, and scale data platforms and services that capture and deliver critical behavioral signals across Expedia Group. You will develop resilient data pipelines, automated quality frameworks, and scalable data products that ensure our data is accurate, reliable, timely, and easy to consume. Your work will help establish strong data contracts, improve observability and governance, and empower teams across the company to make faster, more confident product decisions while accurately measuring the impact of customer experiences and product investments.

In this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and services that support business and product outcomes across multiple domains.
• Apply strong technical aptitude to data engineering challenges, including system design, low-level design, API design, data modeling, and scalable data processing.
• Develop, test, deploy, and operate production-quality data solutions with an emphasis on reliability, performance, maintainability, and security.
• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, analysts, and domain experts to translate complex requirements into effective data products and technical solutions.
• Use data-driven analysis to improve pipeline performance, data quality, operational visibility, and decision-making across supported services and domains.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines, services, or platforms with ownership spanning multiple services or a defined technical domain.
• Proficiency in data modeling, data processing, software development fundamentals, API design, and system design, including low-level design.
• Experience developing maintainable, testable, and reliable solutions, with an understanding of observability, incident response, performance, and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and evolving scalable data architectures across multiple services or a broad technical domain.
• Demonstrated ability to improve system reliability, data quality, performance, and operational efficiency through measurable, data-driven outcomes.
• Experience leading technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and influencing architecture within a multi-service or domain-level scope.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled data products, model-serving or data workflows, and safely applying AI/ML concepts to improve real-world product outcomes.
• Experience delivering flexible data engineering solutions across multiple domains while balancing maintainability, scalability, security, and customer impact.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $146,000.00 to $204,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $233,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
