The Farmer’s Dog is seeking a Data Engineer 2 to join our growing team. You will design, implement, and maintain data analytics solutions across the organization, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and business partners to deliver practical insights.

You will ensure data integrity, optimize workflows, and empower stakeholders to make evidence-based decisions. The role emphasizes hands-on data engineering, problem solving, and a passion for turning data into impact.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in data engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Python with production code experience; strong SQL skills.
• Experience or strong interest in AI/ML workflows and tooling.
• Experience with REST APIs and data integration patterns.
• Familiar with DBT, Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Understand ETL/ELT concepts and create pipelines independently.
• Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines for structured and unstructured data supporting reporting, analytics and AI/ML use cases.
• Write production-level code that processes and validates millions of events per day.
• Develop AI tooling and automation to enhance data engineering capabilities and workflows.
• Ingest data from APIs, databases, file systems, and streaming platforms into our data infrastructure, and build and maintain pipelines for structured and unstructured data that support reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases.
• Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks across our data warehouse to ensure data integrity, reliability, and security across the organization
• Implement monitoring, data quality checks, and alerting to ensure pipeline reliability and implement automated checks.
• Support production data systems and help resolve data-related incidents.
• Document technical implementations, follow engineering best practices, and foster a collaborative team environment that promotes knowledge sharing, standard methodologies, continuous improvement, and continuous learning.
