Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Data Engineer II in Orlando to design, build, test, deploy, and support scalable data pipelines and platform components. You will translate business requirements into secure, reliable data solutions and collaborate across data, technology, and business teams to improve data accessibility and quality.

The role requires 3-5 years of data engineering experience, strong SQL, and proficiency in Python/Scala/Java, with exposure to cloud data platforms and CI/CD

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, software engineering, BI, analytics engineering, or data platform development.
• Experience building and supporting production ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, warehouses, lakes, or lakehouses.
• Strong SQL and proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, or a similar language.
• Experience with a cloud data platform, orchestration tool, and automated testing or CI/CD preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mansioni

• Own defined data engineering solutions from requirements and design through deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, integrations, data models, APIs, and batch or near-real-time workflows.
• Translate business rules and source-system behavior into maintainable technical designs and mappings.
• Implement automated testing, reconciliation, observability, alerting, metadata, and lineage for assigned solutions.
• Tune data pipelines, storage, and queries for reliability, scalability, performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, remediate defects, and prevent recurrence.
• Apply CI/CD, version control, code review, documentation, security, privacy, and governance standards.
• Partner with analytics, BI, data science, architecture, product, and business teams to deliver usable data products.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual flows and create reusable engineering patterns.
• Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code review, and knowledge sharing.
