InVita Healthcare Technologies seeks a Data Engineer II in Baltimore, MD, to support implementation, integration and configuration of data solutions for client projects. You will translate client needs into robust data architectures, design ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate with engineers, analysts and consultants to deliver scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • External client-facing experience.
  • Strong experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS)
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Client Partnership: Serve as primary technical point of contact for assigned clients, developing strong working relationships and building trust throughout the engagement.
  • Technical Consultation: Work directly with clients to understand their technical needs, data requirements, workflows, and challenges, and translate those needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Client Communication: Explain technical concepts, data processes, system functionality, and potential solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Database Design & Management: Develop and maintain databases, data warehouses, and other data storage solutions, ensuring they meet the company’s data needs and business goals.
  • Data Pipeline and ETL/ELT Processes: Design, build and deploy robust ETL/ELT pipelines and staging transformations to migrate and synchronize datasets with target schemas.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Ensure high data quality and availability by implementing appropriate monitoring, testing, and validation techniques.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data integration engineers, business analysts, and software engineers to understand their data requirements and provide timely solutions.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Ensure that all data solutions comply with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor the performance of data systems and make improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.

Location

Baltimore, MD. This is a hybrid role with 3-days per week required to be worked in the Baltimore, MD office.

Hours of work

Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM local time Monday through Friday. Flexibility of Working Hours dependent on location. Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime.

Compensation

$100,000 - $120,000 annually.

Overview

The Data Engineer II is a highly technical, client-facing role responsible for supporting the implementation, integration, and configuration of data solutions while serving as a trusted technical resource for internal and external technical and non-technical partners. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts, navigate challenges, and develop effective solutions while working closely with clients and cross-functional teams.

Essential Functions

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Engineer, or in a similar role.

  • Strong experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS,)
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into data architecture solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
