Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join the Data & Analytics team. The role focuses on building and maintaining robust data pipelines, leveraging Snowflake, Matillion, and Tableau to support analytics and reporting.

You will design data models, ensure data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver governed cloud data solutions in a hybrid work setting at one of Collins' major facilities.

Qualifications

  • University degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • 3+ years in data engineering, designing and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Matillion, Alteryx, and Tableau or related ETL/RDBMS technologies.
  • Strong SQL skills with complex queries, joins, and aggregations.
  • Experience building dashboards in Tableau.
  • ETL best practices with Matillion or similar tools.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team in Collins Aerospace. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure using latest technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support and contribute to the evolution of our data platform and capabilities.

This is a hybrid position based at one of Collins' major facilities
What YOU will do:

Data Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support data analytics and reporting needs.

Snowflake: Utilize Snowflake to manage data warehousing, including data modeling, schema design, and optimization.

Matillion: Implement ETL processes using Matillion to integrate, transform, and load data from various sources into Snowflake.

SQL: Write complex SQL queries for data retrieval, analysis, and reporting. Optimize queries for performance and efficiency.

Data Quality: Ensure data quality and integrity by developing and implementing data validation and cleansing procedures.

Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

Troubleshooting and Debugging: Investigate and resolve data issues, performance bottlenecks, and other technical challenges.

Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data processes, workflows, and architecture.

What You Will Learn:

Core skills in Snowflake data modeling, secure data pipelines, and governed cloud data operations.

How to develop and maintain SAP data integrations and structured data workflows across enterprise systems.

Standardized methods for building reliable, compliant data solutions aligned with aerospace and defense requirements.

Best practices in data quality, documentation, and audit‑ready engineering processes.

Collaboration with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams on structured, requirements‑driven delivery.

Fundamentals of modern data engineering tools and techniques, including version control and controlled release practices.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Must be a U.S Citizen.

About 3+ years of experience in data engineering role, with proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes.

Experience: Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a background in Snowflake, Matillion, Alteryx, and Tableau or relevant ETL and RDBMS technologies.

SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL skills, including experience with complex queries, joins, and aggregations.

Data Visualization: Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Tableau.

ETL Expertise: Strong understanding of ETL processes and best practices, with hands‑on experience using Matillion or relevant tools.

Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Time Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Knowledge of SAP S4 and SAP Business Data Cloud.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
