Job summary

EXL is seeking a Healthcare Data Engineer/Data Analyst to support HEDIS, quality measures, and data transformation initiatives. You will develop SQL and Python solutions, perform data validation, and help modernize healthcare reporting in a hybrid Hartford, CT environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Healthcare Data Engineering, Analytics, Quality Measurement, or Healthcare Reporting.
  • Strong SQL development and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP/BigQuery.
  • Understanding of healthcare data including claims, membership, provider, and clinical data.
  • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support HEDIS, Supplemental CQL, and quality measure analysis activities.
  • Analyze measure outputs and supporting evidence.
  • Develop SQL and Python solutions to automate data processing, validation, and reporting activities.
  • Support FHIR mapping and healthcare data transformation initiatives.
  • Document findings, issues, data flows, and business requirements.
  • Support modernization efforts related to quality measurement and healthcare reporting.

The posted range is the hiring range for this role — a subset of the broader range available to employees over time — and reflects base salary across our national hiring scale. Final offers are based on several factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, internal pay equity, work location, market conditions for the role, and the specific scope and responsibilities of the position. The top of the range is reserved for candidates who notably exceed the requirements; the lower end applies to those with less experience or fewer preferred qualifications. For positions based in higher-cost zones (e.g., California, New York, New Jersey), actual compensation may exceed the posted range; your recruiter will share specifics during the process.

Qualifications:
Required Skills
  • Minimum 3+ years of Healthcare Data Engineering, Healthcare Analytics, Quality Measurement, or Healthcare Reporting experience
  • Strong SQL development and data analysis skills
  • Experience with GCP, Big Query, or other cloud platforms
  • Understanding of healthcare data including claims, membership, provider, and clinical data
  • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
  • HEDIS or healthcare quality measures experience
  • Exposure to HL7 FHIR concepts and healthcare interoperability
  • Exposure to Clinical Quality Language (CQL)
  • Experience supporting data quality and testing initiatives
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
