Job summary

Capgemini in Atlanta, GA is seeking a GCP Data Engineer for a hybrid role. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on GCP, mainly using BigQuery, and develop DBT models to transform raw data into clean, tested datasets.

You will write complex SQL, implement data warehousing with performance and reliability in mind, collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders, and help ensure data governance and security compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries.
• Nice to have: DBT knowledge for data modeling and transformation.
• Hands-on with BigQuery and other GCP data services.
• Knowledge of data warehousing principles and best practices.
• Basic to intermediate Python for scripting.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.

• Develop and manage DBT models as a nice to have to transform raw data into clean, tested, and documented datasets
• Write complex, optimized SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
• Implement and maintain data warehousing solutions with focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Partner with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather data requirements and deliver quality solutions
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance and data quality issues
• Automate data workflows and tasks using Python scripts when needed
• Support data governance, security, and compliance standards
