Job summary

Tectu is seeking a Data Engineer to lead data strategy and delivery across multiple projects. You will architect and build data infrastructure, pipelines, and warehouses to support analytics for diverse customers. The role emphasizes ownership, fast delivery, and collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.

Ideal candidates are data-obsessed, self-motivated, and experienced with Agile methodologies, capable of working independently or in teams across dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing and data lake platforms.
• Strong proficiency of SQL and Python.
• Experience in data analytics, data modeling, ETL/ELT, data integration and orchestration (Airflow) and processing of structured and unstructured data.
• Experience in big data technologies such such as AWS EMR (Spark) and Athena (Presto).
• Experience with DWH solutions like AWS Redshift, BigQuery, Clickhouse.
• Experience with latest cloud technologies of one of the biggest vendors (AWS is an advantage).
• A proven track record of owning and delivering tasks and projects on time.

Responsibilities

• Own major projects from inception to production deployment, shipping at a rapid pace.
• Architect, design and develop simple, yet flexible data solutions for a variety of customers.
• Design and build data infrastructure including data ingestion, pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes for efficient storage and analysis of large data.
• Solve data integration problems using optimal ETL patterns and query techniques across structured and unstructured sources.
• Improve data reliability, efficiency, cost and quality.
• Contribute to data strategy and capabilities roadmap.
• Participate in team-wide efforts like code reviews, design reviews, and mentoring others.

As a Data Engineer at the company, your day will most likely vary according to which projects youre involved in, but generally youll be performing the following activities:

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing and data lake platforms

• Strong proficiency of SQL and Python

• Experience in a variety of big data technologies such such as AWS EMR (Spark) and Athena (Presto)
