Job summary

Apple Inc. is hiring a data engineer to build privacy-conscious data and ML systems at scale. You will work on real-time, near-real-time, and batch pipelines, owning architecture from data ingestion to model deployment while ensuring privacy, cost, and reliability.

You will collaborate with world-class engineers and product managers in a fast-paced Agile setting. You will apply ML, LLMs, and AI coding tools daily to accelerate implementation, testing, and debugging, with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• 1–4 years in scalable data pipelines or distributed software at scale.
• Strong CS and software engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Rust, Python, Java or Scala.
• Experience with Spark, Kafka, Flink or similar.
• Experience with on-premise and cloud deployments.
• Solid data structures, algorithms and system design knowledge.
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on use of LLMs (Claude, Gemini) in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Engineer secure, scalable data and ML systems across real-time and batch contexts.
• Own design and delivery of pipeline architecture and ML model development.
• Support privacy-preserving, mission-critical infrastructure.
• Improve reliability, performance, and efficiency with schema changes and backfills.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers; participate in reviews and mentoring.
• Engage in on-call, monitoring, and incident analysis activities.
• Work in a sprint-based Agile environment focused on reliability and scale.
