Job summary

Axiom Bank is seeking a Data Engineer to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize Python-based ETL/ELT pipelines feeding data into the warehouse. You will query and validate data with SQL, reconcile sources, and ensure accurate mappings and lineage across core banking systems.

The role emphasizes data quality, governance, and production readiness, with collaboration across teams to maintain runbooks, data dictionaries, and control documentation in a regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering, ETL/ELT, or data warehousing.
• Experience supporting production pipelines, reconciliations, and audit-ready evidence.
• Knowledge of Python and SQL development, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develops, executes, troubleshoots, and improves Python-based ETL/ELT pipelines for ingestion, staging, transformation, mapping, validation, and output generation.
• Uses SQL to query, transform, validate, reconcile, and load warehouse data; optimizes queries and resolves database issues.
• Integrates data from core banking, lending, deposits, servicing, third-party sources, and files.
• Maintains source-to-target mappings, schemas, data models, and lineage; ensures data integrity.
• Monitors production workflows, logs, alerts, and recoveries; performs root-cause analysis across data sources.
• Communicates status, risks, dependencies, and business impact; supports cross-training and backup coverage.
