Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Data Engineer to join a team that collects and transforms shipboard data for analytics across the Laboratory. You will design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to support an enterprise data warehouse, enabling reliable metrics and analytic capabilities.

The role emphasizes evaluating new technologies and optimizing ETL workloads, with a focus on performance, scalability, and data quality to support the U.S. Navy nuclear propulsion program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related engineering or science field.
• Knowledge of distributed technologies such as Spark.
• Experience in Linux shell scripting and software development using SQL and Python.
• Experience in optimization and performance tuning of ETL workloads and understanding of database internals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes for shipboard data used in naval nuclear propulsion systems.
• Evaluate new technologies to deliver scalable data transformation solutions.
